Help Peter raise funds for baby with 'childhood Alzheimer's'
Support our very own football star for a good cause...

This month our very own Peter McBride, Lab Technician at Visioncall, is taking part in a very special charity match to raise funds for an important cause.

Seven-month-old Bonnie has become one of the youngest people in Scotland to be diagnosed with what is being dubbed as childhood Alzheimer’s.

Little Bonnie is one of six people in the country living with the extremely rare and fatal genetic disease, which is known as Neimann Pick type C disease.

With no known cure or clinical trials available in the UK for anyone of Bonnie’s age, her parents are working hard to raise enough money to allow her to take part in ongoing trials in the US.

To help with this effort, Peter’s football team Motherwell Villa AFC will be facing off against famed football pundit Peter Martin’s charity select on Friday 24 November at 7pm in Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium, with all funds raised going to this unique and important cause.

As a new dad himself Peter explained why he wanted to get involved with this cause: “For somebody that young, it’s surprising to see it diagnosed.

“You always hear of Alzheimer’s or dementia and think it’s related to just older people.

“I’ve just become a dad myself and couldn’t imagine what the parents are going through, so getting involved to help raise money was an easy decision.”

Peter will be taking donations in person at Visioncall Central Support in the lead up to the big game, so if any of our team in Cambuslang want to support Peter and the team just visit him in the lab!

If you want to go along and cheer on the team then you can purchase tickets via the event page here.

For others across the UK who want to help support Bonnie, you can donate via the official GoFundMe page here and leave a message of support.
